How do I sell content using a Paywall?

Learn how to enable and configure a Paywall to sell access to your videos or presentations.

Overview

The Paywall feature allows you to monetize your videos or presentations by requiring viewers to purchase access before watching. Buyers gain secure, lifetime access from their free MediaZilla account, while you collect payments directly through Stripe.

Step 1 — Access Monetization Settings

  1. Open the video or presentation you want to sell.

  2. Navigate to the Monetization Settings.

Step 2 — Connect Stripe

  1. At the top of the Monetization Settings, click Connect Stripe.

  2. Sign in to an existing Stripe account or create a new one.

  3. Once Stripe is verified, the status will show as Active.

    • Without an active Stripe account, the Paywall cannot be enabled.

Step 3 — Enable and Configure Paywall

  1. Toggle Enable to ON.

  2. Set the purchase price and choose your currency (from the supported list).

  3. Upload a preview video to help drive sales (recommended).

  4. Save Changes at the bottom

  5. Navigate to the poster frame settings on the left side menu and upload an image (will be used as the Paywall background).

  6. Add a description below the video or presentation on the right to inform buyers what they are purchasing.

Step 4 — Preview the Paywall

  1. Navigate to the Monetize settings. A live preview of your Paywall is displayed on the right.

  2. Confirm the following display correctly:

    1. Title

    2. Background image

    3. Branding

    4. Content duration

    5. Maximum resolution (SD/HD/4K, HDR if available)

    6. Description

    7. Pricing

    8. Preview

Step 5 — Share the Paywall Link or QR Code

  1. Copy and share the generated Paywall Link.

  2. (Optional) Download the QR code to place on posters, programs, or other materials.

Step 6 — (Optional) Collect Presales

If your content is not yet ready, you can still share the Paywall link and begin collecting presales. Buyers will gain access automatically once the content is published.

Step 7 — Payment & Access

  • Customers purchase the content directly on the Paywall page.

  • After payment, they receive an Email Delivery confirmation granting lifetime access from their MediaZilla account.

  • Payments are deposited into your connected Stripe account.

Tip: For the best results, pair Paywalls with strategic marketing — clear descriptions, strong preview videos, and targeted audience outreach can significantly boost sales.
