Captions will not be generated for your video under either of the following circumstances:
The video does not contain an audio track
The video was uploaded prior to October, 2020
Video without Audio Track
If your video does not have an audio track, you will need to re-export it from your editing program using the correct settings to ensure the audio track is included in the file.
Then, use the Replace Video feature to swap out the original. You will then be able to generate captions from the video.
Video Uploaded Prior to October 2020
If the video was uploaded prior to October, 2020, it was encoded using a format not supported by our captions process. No need to worry! It can be re-encoded using our latest format so that captions can be generated.
You will need to obtain the original file, either by downloading it from MediaZilla or by locating it on your local system.
Then, use the Replace Video feature to swap out the original. You will then be able to generate captions from the video.
