How do I get paid from sales on MediaZilla?

Understand commissions, payout timelines, refunds, and chargebacks for your sales

Updated this week

When you sell content on MediaZilla—whether through Paywalls or Dynamic Video Sales (DVS)—your earnings are automatically deposited into your connected Stripe account. Stripe then pays out to your bank account according to your payout schedule.

Payouts from Stripe

  • By default, Stripe pays out to your bank account on a rolling 2-day schedule (U.S. accounts).

  • In some regions, the default may be 7 days. You can update your payout schedule directly in your Stripe dashboard.

  • You’ll see sales deposits grouped together for each payout period.

Fees and Commissions

  • MediaZilla commission: A small percentage of each transaction is collected by MediaZilla. The exact percentage depends on your membership plan.

  • Stripe processing fee: Stripe also deducts a payment processing fee per transaction. This varies by country and payment method.

  • Both fees are automatically deducted before payout.

Refunds & Chargebacks

  • Refunds are processed through Stripe.

  • If a refund or chargeback occurs, the amount is deducted from your Stripe balance.

  • You can manage refunds directly in your Stripe dashboard.

Viewing Your Sales and Payouts

  • In MediaZilla: Within your project’s Access settings, you can view who has been granted access after a successful purchase.

  • In Stripe: Your Stripe dashboard provides detailed payout information, bank deposits, and processing fees.

Requirements for Getting Paid

  1. A connected and active Stripe account (see How do I connect Stripe to my MediaZilla account?).

  2. Completed identity verification in Stripe.

  3. A bank account or debit card added to Stripe for payouts.

Tip: If you expect large sales volumes (e.g., presales for a big event), make sure your Stripe account is fully verified and active in advance.
