How do I customize my Email Delivery design and branding?

Manage email templates, edit a design, and choose the design and message each video or presentation uses.

Every email a viewer gets about your content uses an email design: invitations, reminders, library and rental notices, add-on order confirmations and purchase receipts. You keep your designs as templates on the Branding page, and each video or presentation uses your default template unless you choose another.

Custom email designs are available on Growth plans and above. On other plans your emails use the Classic design, and any designs you made are kept for when you upgrade.

Manage your templates

Admins manage templates in Company Settings > Branding > Emails.

  • Default template is the design content uses unless it has its own. Which emails? lists every email it covers. An order covering several content items always uses the company default.

  • All templates lists every template and how many content items use it. Click Create template to start a new one.

  • Each template's menu has Preview, Duplicate, Rename, Set as Default and Delete.

  • Classic is built in. You can't change it, but you can duplicate it to start a template of your own.

  • The template marked Created for you is the one MediaZilla made for your company.

  • Two templates can't share a name.

  • When you delete a template, all content using it switches to your default template. This can't be undone.

Edit a design

The editor has six sections, with a live preview beside them:

  • From: the sender name in the recipient's inbox. Use your company name, or choose Custom name.

  • Subject: the subject line and the optional preview text.

  • Header: Your company logo (always the current logo from Branding, or your company name if you have no logo), A fixed image, Text, or None.

  • Hero image: the large image at the top of the email. Use Each content item's poster frame, A fixed image, or No hero image. Choose the shape: Wide (3:1) or 16:9. With the poster frame you can set its position, or crop it to turn it into a fixed image.

  • Content: the headline (the content title, or your own), the button text, and the message.

  • Style: background, text, button and button text colors.

Click Save template when you're done. If you changed the message, you'll be asked about the content that uses this template. Content with a message of its own keeps it unless you say otherwise. See How delivery messages work.

Choose the design for one video or presentation

  1. Open the video or presentation and choose Settings > Branding, or click the Branding icon in the left panel.

  2. Open the Emails tab.

  3. Under Email design, choose Company default, Classic, one of your templates, or a design made just for this content.

Edit design asks whether to edit the template, which changes it for every content item that uses it, or to Customize this content only. Only admins can edit a template or save a content's design with Save as template.

Changing the design changes the message too, and switching away from a custom design discards it. A presentation's email design can be set once the presentation is published.

Preview and test

The preview has two tabs: Email, and Invitation page, the page your viewer lands on after clicking the email's button. Full preview lets you pick any email type, from a delivery invitation to a rental-ended notice, and switch between desktop and mobile. Click Send me a test email to see it in your own inbox.

What your viewers see

  • Inbox: the From name you chose, sent from notifications@mediazilla.com. Replies go to the company email in your Company Profile. When someone you delivered to passes the content on, replies to their delivery go to them, not to you.

  • Email: your header, hero image, headline, message and colors. A small "Sent with MediaZilla" note sits at the foot of the email, with the date the invitation link expires.

  • Invitation page: when a viewer clicks the button, they see the same header and From name as the email, over your brand color and the content's poster frame.

  • Player: if the branding button is on, viewers can open your contact details from it. See Branding Your Videos and Presentations.
