Customizing Video, Image, and Color Backgrounds

Set video, image, or color backgrounds in your MediaZilla presentations, with options to crop, focal point, and loop seamlessly.

Updated yesterday

You can customize the look and feel of your presentation menus by setting a video, image, or solid color background.

To get started:

  1. Navigate to the menu page you want to change in the Presentation Editor.

  2. Open the Design tab in the left panel and go to the Background section.

Video Backgrounds (Growth plans and above)

  • Click Browse to select any video from your account as the menu’s background.

  • Video backgrounds can be up to 30 seconds long (any extra will be trimmed).

  • They loop continuously.

  • They can only be set on the main menu.

  • If set on the main menu, the video background plays seamlessly across all menus in the presentation as viewers navigate.

  • Video backgrounds override any image or color backgrounds.

  • Audio from video backgrounds is not used as menu music. Menu music is set separately.

  • The presentation’s poster frame will default to the video background’s poster frame (this can be changed in the Poster Frame settings).

Image Backgrounds

In the Image section, you’ll see these options: Upload, Choose Frame, Crop, and Focal Point.

  • Upload: Use your own images (recommended formats: JPG, PNG, or GIF; resolution: 1920x1080 or larger).

  • Choose Frame: Select a frame from any video in your account to use as the background.

    1. Click Choose Frame to launch the selection screen.

    2. Pick a video on the left (use search to find content quickly).

    3. Scrub through the video on the right to select a frame.

    4. Click Use Current Frame to apply it as the background.

  • Crop: Adjust the framing with drag-and-drop simplicity. You can crop, zoom, and rotate to highlight the right portion of the image. Preview your adjustments before clicking Apply Crop.

  • Focal Point: Ensures the most important part of the image is always visible, regardless of device aspect ratio. Click Focal Point, select the area you want to preserve, then click Apply Changes.

Tip: Use Preview at the top of the Presentation Editor to see how the background will look on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Background Color

If you don’t want to use an image or video, you can set a solid color as the background. Select a color from the color picker in the Background section.

Best Practice:
Use video backgrounds for maximum impact on Growth plans and above, or focal points + cropping for image backgrounds to ensure a polished, consistent look across all devices.
