How does Email Delivery compare to Share Links?

Compare Email Delivery and Share Links on MediaZilla: secure lifetime access vs. quick browser-based viewing.

Updated yesterday

MediaZilla offers two main ways to share content with viewers: Email Delivery and Share Links. Each has its own purpose, benefits, and limitations.

Email Delivery (Best for Secure, Private Access)

  • Sends recipients a personalized branded email invitation.

  • Recipients must log into or create a free MediaZilla account to accept the delivery.

  • Once accepted, the content is added to their account and remains accessible for life—even if the creator cancels their account.

  • Required to view content in the MediaZilla apps for iOS, Apple TV, Android, and Amazon Fire TV.

  • Can include permissions such as View Only, Download, or Can Deliver to Others (redistribute).

  • Provides the most secure and professional delivery option.

Share Links (Best for Quick Access)

  • A simple URL that opens in any browser.

  • No MediaZilla account required to view.

  • Can be set to Public, Password-Protected, or Private (disabled).

  • Ideal for sharing content quickly with friends, family, or on social media.

  • Content viewed through a Share Link is not delivered to the viewer’s account. This means they do not own lifetime access and cannot use the apps to view it.

Delivered vs. Undelivered Content

  • Delivered Content: Content that has been added to a user’s MediaZilla account via Email Delivery (or after purchase). Delivered content is permanent for that user and safe even if the creator’s account is canceled.

  • Undelivered Content: Content only in the creator’s account, accessed by others only through a Share Link. If the creator’s account is canceled, undelivered content is removed from the platform.

Choosing Between Them

  • Use Email Delivery for clients, paid content, or anything requiring secure, long-term access.

  • Use a Share Link for quick viewing in a browser when permanent ownership or app access isn’t required.
