MediaZilla supports streaming in 4K Ultra HD (2160p) when:
The original video was uploaded in 4K.
You are using a supported device, browser, or app.
Watching in the MediaZilla Apps
When you open a video or presentation in the MediaZilla app (Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV/Google TV, iOS, or Android), you’ll first see a screen showing details about the content, including:
Title and description
Maximum available quality (SD, HD, 4K, HDR if applicable)
Duration of the video
From this screen, you’ll see one or two play buttons:
Play → Starts playback with adaptive quality up to HD.
Play 4K → Appears only if the project includes at least one 4K video. Choose this option to stream the 4K content in full 4K Ultra HD.
👉 If you don’t see a Play 4K button, the project does not contain a 4K version of the video.
Watching in a Web Browser
When viewing in a browser, you can set playback quality from the settings icon in the lower-right corner of the video.
Playback defaults to Auto (adaptive), which adjusts quality up to HD based on your internet speed.
If the video was uploaded in 4K, 2160p (4K Ultra HD) will be listed as an option, but only if your browser supports it.
Browser Requirements for 4K
To see options above 1080p, you must use:
macOS → Safari or Chrome
Windows → Chrome or Edge

Notes About 4K
4K playback is only available if the original video was uploaded in 4K.
MediaZilla uses HEVC (H.265), the most widely supported 4K codec across devices.
Some browsers may limit playback to 1080p even if your display is 4K-capable.
A strong internet connection is required for smooth 4K streaming.
