Share Link
Share links can be viewed in a web browser on a desktop or mobile device and cast to a TV.
Cast from a Desktop Web Browser
Desktop computers with the Chrome web browser can cast to TV's that support Google Cast. Nearly all brand TV's support Google Cast except LG and Samsung. If you are casting a share link to an LG or Samsung TV, you will need to use Apple AirPlay from a Mac computer, or use a mobile device instead. For all other brand TV's, please follow the instructions below for casting from a desktop (Mac or PC).
Make sure you are using the Chrome browser.
While playing a video (either a standalone video or a video within a presentation), click the Google Cast icon that appears in the lower-right of the video.
You will see a pop-up informing you: this is for Google Cast compatible devices only, for Samsung or LG TV's you must cast via a mobile device, and that only videos are cast, not menus. Click 'Ok' to continue. You can also opt to not show the message again in the future.
Select your TV device from the list that appears (must be on the same network).
It can take a few seconds for the devices to sync. The video will begin playing on the TV. Presentation menus can only be viewed on the desktop computer, and cannot be cast to the TV.
Cast from a Web Browser on a Mac to Samsung or LG TVs
To cast from a Mac computer to a Samsung or LG TV, please follow these instructions:
Make sure your Mac and Apple TV are on the same network.
Click Control Center in the menu bar, click the Screen Mirroring icon, then choose your Samsung or LG TV.
If asked, enter a four-digit code on your Mac.
To set whether your desktop mirrors or extends your Mac screen, click the Screen Mirroring icon, then choose Mirror Built-in Display or Use As Separate Display.
Cast from a Web Browser on an Apple iPhone/iPad
Apple mobile browsers cast to TV's using the Apple AirPlay technology. Only specific brand TV's support AirPlay: LG, Samsung, Roku, Sony, and Vizio.
Connect your iPhone or iPad to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV, AirPlay-compatible smart TV or Mac.
Open Control Center:
On iPhone X or later, or iPad with iPadOS 13 or later: swipe down from the top right-hand corner of the screen.
On iPhone 8 or earlier, or iOS 11 or earlier: swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.
Tap the Screen Mirroring button
Select your TV or Mac from the list
If an AirPlay passcode appears on your TV screen or Mac, enter the passcode on your iPhone or iPad.
Cast from a Web Browser on an Android Phone/Tablet
Android mobile devices can cast to TV's using either the Smart View screen mirroring (built into Android OS) or via Google Cast. We recommend using Google Cast if your TV supports it. For LG and Samsung TV's, you must use Smart View.
Cast via Smart View
Open the quick settings panel on your Android mobile device by swiping down from the top of the screen using two fingers. Then, swipe to and tap the Smart View icon.
Select your TV device from the list that appears (must be on the same wifi network).
It can take a few seconds for the devices to sync. Your entire screen will be cast to the TV as you navigate to and play videos from your Android mobile device.
