Watching on Samsung or LG TV

Watch MediaZilla on Samsung or LG TVs by casting from the MediaZilla mobile app (AirPlay or Smart View) or from a web browser.

Updated today

There is currently no MediaZilla app for Samsung or LG Smart TVs. To watch content on these TVs, you must use casting from another device. The method depends on whether you’re using an Apple device or an Android device.

If You’re Using an Apple Device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac)

You have two options for casting to your Samsung or LG TV:

Option 1: AirPlay (Video Only)

  1. Open the MediaZilla app or open the project in Safari.

  2. Start playing a video.

  3. Tap the AirPlay icon at the top of the video player.

  4. Select your Samsung or LG TV (must be on the same Wi-Fi network).

👉 This option casts only the video to the TV. Presentation menus remain on your device.
👉 Note: Chrome on iOS does not support AirPlay. Use Safari or the MediaZilla app.

Option 2: Screen Mirroring (Full Screen, Including Menus)

  1. On your iPhone/iPad: open Control Center → tap Screen Mirroring.

    • On iPhone X or later: swipe down from the top-right corner.

    • On iPhone 8 or earlier: swipe up from the bottom edge.

  2. On your Mac: open Control Center from the menu bar → click Screen Mirroring.

  3. Select your Samsung or LG TV.

👉 This option mirrors your entire screen, so you can view videos and presentation menus on your TV.

If You’re Using an Android Device

Samsung and LG TVs do not support Google Cast. The only option on Android is Smart View (screen mirroring).

You can use Smart View whether you’re watching in the MediaZilla app or in a browser:

  1. Open the MediaZilla app or open the project in Chrome.

  2. From your Android device, open Quick Settings → tap Smart View.

  3. Select your Samsung or LG TV (must be on the same Wi-Fi network).

  4. Your screen will mirror to the TV. Start playing a video to watch on the big screen.

👉 Smart View mirrors your entire screen, so both videos and presentation menus are visible on the TV.
