Watching on Roku

Watch MediaZilla on Roku by casting with AirPlay (Apple devices) or screen mirroring (Android/Windows).

Updated today

There is currently no MediaZilla app for Roku devices. To watch content on a Roku, you must use casting from another device. Roku supports both AirPlay (Apple devices) and Screen Mirroring (Android/Windows).

If Youโ€™re Using an Apple Device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac)

Option 1: AirPlay (Video Only)

  1. Open the MediaZilla app or open the project in Safari.

  2. Start playing a video.

  3. Tap the AirPlay icon in the video player.

  4. Select your Roku device (must be AirPlay-enabled and on the same Wi-Fi network).

๐Ÿ‘‰ This option casts only the video. Presentation menus remain on your device.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Note: Chrome on iOS does not support AirPlay.

Option 2: Screen Mirroring (Full Screen, Including Menus)

  • On iPhone/iPad: open Control Center โ†’ tap Screen Mirroring โ†’ choose your Roku.

  • On Mac: open Control Center from the menu bar โ†’ click Screen Mirroring โ†’ choose your Roku.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This mirrors your entire screen, so both videos and presentation menus appear on the TV.

If Youโ€™re Using an Android Device

Roku devices donโ€™t support Google Cast, but you can use Screen Mirroring (Miracast):

  1. Open the MediaZilla app or open the project in Chrome.

  2. From your Android device, open Quick Settings โ†’ tap Smart View or Screen Cast (name may vary by device).

  3. Select your Roku device (must be on the same Wi-Fi network).

  4. Your screen will mirror to the TV.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This mirrors your entire screen, so both videos and menus appear on the TV.

If Youโ€™re Using a Windows Computer

Roku also supports screen mirroring from Windows PCs (Miracast):

  1. Open the project in any browser.

  2. Press Windows + K on your keyboard.

  3. Select your Roku device from the list.

  4. Your screen will mirror to the TV.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This mirrors your entire screen, so both videos and menus appear on the TV.
