Analytics Overview

Learn how to access MediaZilla analytics to track plays, downloads, engagement, and viewer behavior across videos and presentations.

MediaZilla provides analytics to help you understand how viewers are engaging with your videos and presentations. Depending on your plan, you’ll have access to both basic metrics and advanced engagement analytics.


Accessing Analytics

  1. In your dashboard, locate the video or presentation.

  2. Click the options menu (⋮) on its tile.

  3. Select Analytics


Video Analytics

When viewing analytics for a single video, you’ll see:

Basic Metrics (all plans):

  • Total Plays – Number of times the video starts playing (counted once per session).

  • Unique Plays – Number of unique viewers who played the video.

  • Total Play Rate – How often the video is played after it loads.

  • Unique Play Rate – How often unique viewers choose to play the video after it loads.

  • Total Downloads – Total number of downloads (any resolution).

  • Unique Downloads – Number of unique viewers who initiated a download.

Advanced Metrics (Growth and above):

  • Total Engagement – Average percentage of the video viewed per play.

  • Unique Engagement – Average percentage of the video each unique viewer watched across all sessions.

  • Engagement Over Time – A timeline graph showing where viewers stop watching.

    Example: If many viewers drop off at the same point, consider editing the video to improve retention.


Presentation Analytics

When viewing analytics for a presentation (multiple videos within a menu), you’ll see:

Basic Metrics:

  • Total Plays – Number of plays across all videos in the presentation.

  • Unique Plays – Number of unique viewers who played at least one video.

  • Total Downloads – Total number of downloads across all videos.

Per-Video Metrics:

  • Total Plays per Video – How many plays each individual video received.

  • Unique Plays per Video – How many unique viewers watched each video.

  • Total Downloads per Video – How many times each video was downloaded.
