Analytics for a presentation or video

Open the Analytics tab on any presentation or video to see plays, engagement, audience retention, and who watched.

Every presentation and video has its own Analytics tab. It shows how that one item is being watched, and, with Premium Analytics, who is watching it.

Open it

Open the presentation or video and click Analytics in the left panel, or choose Analytics from the ⋮ menu on its tile. It's available once a presentation is published or a video has finished processing.

You can also get there from a person:

  • On the Access page, select one recipient and click View Analytics, or click their Watched percentage.

  • On the Sales tab, choose View Analytics from an order's ⋮ menu.

Both open the Viewers tab with that person's activity showing.

The tab starts on All Time. Pick another date range at the top: Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, Last 12 Months or This Year.

Overview

The cards at the top:

  • Plays: playback starts, counted once per viewing session. The line below shows unique plays.

  • Viewers: the number of different people who viewed it. The line below shows total views.

  • Play rate: the percentage of times the content loaded and someone pressed play.

  • Engagement: how much of the video viewers watched, counting each second once per viewer. For a presentation, longer videos count for more.

  • Downloaders: people who started at least one download. Shown only when downloads are turned on.

Below the cards:

  • Activity over time charts plays, viewers, engagement or downloaders by date.

  • Audience retention (videos) shows the percentage of viewers who watched each moment of the video. Hover over the chart to see the frame at that point. A drop shows where people stopped watching.

  • Plays by source, Viewers by access, Plays by device and Top viewing locations show where plays came from, whether viewers got the content through My Library or a Share Link, what they watched on, and roughly where they were.

Videos tab (presentations)

Lists each video played from this presentation, with its plays, engagement and last activity. Click View Details to see that video's figures, audience retention and viewers within this presentation.

Viewers tab

The Viewers tab is part of Premium Analytics. It lists everyone who viewed this item, plus the recipients who haven't watched yet, whatever date range you pick.

Each person has a status:

  • Watched: they played it.

  • Opened, not watched: they opened it but didn't press play.

  • Not yet viewed: you sent it and they haven't opened it.

Search by name or email, and filter by status, viewer type, where they came from, how they got access, which video they watched, whether they downloaded, their device or their approximate location. For a presentation, sort by Videos Watched to see who watched the most.

Some activity can't be tied to one person. It's counted in the totals but not listed.

Who you see by name

You see a name and email only for people you sent the content to directly. Everyone else is shown by type:

  • Redistributed viewer: someone who received the content from one of your recipients. Their identity stays private.

  • Anonymous viewer: someone with no direct access from you, such as a Share Link visitor. One anonymous viewer may be more than one person.

A viewer's activity

Click View Activity on a row to see one person's activity on this item:

  • Their plays, engagement and downloads, and for a presentation, how many videos they watched

  • How they got access, where they came from, their approximate location, device, viewing app, browser and operating system

  • The videos they watched, and an Activity history grouped into sessions, showing when they opened it, started playback and how far they got. Times are in your local time zone.

From there you can:

  • Click View Access to open their row on the Access page.

  • Click View All Activity to see what they watched across all your content on the Analytics page.

  • Click Resend to send the Email Delivery again to a recipient who hasn't viewed it yet.

Export to CSV

Click Export CSV on a chart to download its data, or on the Viewers tab to download the list. A list export follows your date range, filters and search. It takes a moment to prepare, then downloads, and you can keep working meanwhile. Names and emails are filled in only for people you sent the content to directly.

If nothing shows

  • Preparing your analytics means the figures are being calculated. It usually takes less than a minute, and you can leave the page while it finishes.

  • No one has access to this content yet means you haven't delivered it or created a Share Link.

  • No one has opened this yet means people have it but nobody has opened it.

  • No activity in this period means nothing happened in the date range you picked. Click View All Time.
