Deleting and Recovering Media

Learn what happens when you delete videos or presentations in MediaZilla, and how to recover deleted content within 10 days.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

You may occasionally need to remove a video or presentation from your account. This article explains what happens when content is deleted and how recovery works.

Deleting Presentations

  • If a presentation has been delivered via Email Delivery and exists in someone else’s library, it cannot be deleted. This ensures you can continue to make updates if needed.

  • If a presentation exists only in your account (and hasn’t been delivered), it will be permanently deleted when you remove it.

  • The videos inside the presentation remain in your account even if the presentation itself is deleted.

Deleting Videos

  • If a video exists only in your account and has never been delivered, it will be permanently deleted when removed.

  • If a video has been delivered to another user’s library, it cannot be deleted. This ensures the recipient retains lifetime access and allows you to make future updates if needed.

  • If a video is used inside a presentation, you will be prompted to remove it from the presentation first before it can be deleted.

Recovering Deleted Media

  • Accidentally deleted something? Videos and presentations can be recovered for up to 10 days after deletion.

  • After 10 days, content is permanently removed from our servers and cannot be restored.

  • To request a recovery, please contact us as soon as possible using the support chat in the lower-left corner of your dashboard.
