You can create chapter markers in Premiere and bring them into MediaZilla to streamline your scene selection menus. Premiere offers two ways to output chapters:
Export a marker file (recommended)
Embed chapters in a QuickTime MOV file (not recommended)
Step 1: Add Chapter Markers in Your Timeline
Move the playhead to where you want the chapter to begin.
Select Marker > Add Marker or press M.
Double-click the marker to open the Marker dialog box.
Enter a chapter title in the Name field.
Check Chapter Marker and click OK.
Step 2: Export Chapters
Option 1 (Recommended): Export Chapters as a Marker File
This lets you export your video in MP4 with H.264 or HEVC, which are faster to process and offer better playback performance in MediaZilla.
Select the timeline in your project panel.
Go to File > Export > Markers.
Save the file as a CSV or TXT.
Option 2: Embed Chapters in a MOV File
Premiere only supports embedded chapters in QuickTime MOV exports. This limits you to less efficient formats and prevents using HEVC. Use this option only if you specifically need embedded chapters.
With the timeline selected, go to File > Export > Media.
Set Format to QuickTime.
Click Metadata and enable Embed in Output File with Include markers checked.
βChoose your output name and location.
Export or send to Media Encoder.
Step 3: Import into MediaZilla
If you exported MP4 + marker file β import the chapter file during Add Scenes with Import Chapters.
If you exported MOV with embedded chapters β chapters will automatically import when you use Add Scenes.
